Happy 60th Birthday!

Happy Birthday Dad/Grandpa! Amazing birthday wishes to someone who quoted us this morning after being asked how it feels to be 60, "I feel like I'm 13!" Lots of birthday kisses are being blown your way today, so don't forget to catch them when you step outside, we love you and adore you!

Happy Birthday Brienna!

It's amazing to think that our adventure started a mere ten years ago. We held you in our arms for the very first time, you were so tiny. We snuggled you close, and spent hours staring at your perfection. The joy we experienced that day was unmeasurable. Man has not, and never will, created a device that can capture the magnitude of you! That was the start of our beautiful Brienna, we've made so many incredible memories since then and look to the future with insane joy at what's to come. Our only wish was that we had one of those darn digital cameras instead of 35mm film back then, oh well, here's more recent glimpses of what makes you so precious! We love you so much pumpkin!
Be sure to crank the volume, audio came through pretty quiet!

Grillin' with the Grochow's

Steak, Shrimp & Chicken Kabobs!

Silly kids

Awesome Host & Hostess

Yesterday was a beautiful day to sit back, relax, enjoy some great company, amazing food and that perfect glass of wine. The kids ran amok and the adults actually held conversations for extended periods of time, truly priceless. It's so awesome how spring, the start of the grilling season, and time spent in great company can bring about such fun. The best way to end a weekend for sure - thank you Erick, Carrie & Liv for such a great time!

Sweet as Ever!

Woke up this morning, enjoyed some doughnuts, packed a picnic lunch, and off we were to Grandma's house. What a beautiful day we were blessed with. Not having been to Gma's new apartment we were really surprised at just how fancy her new digs were. That is QUITE the place she has and had we more time that pool table would have gotten some use. As it was we took a tour of her awesome apartment and headed for the playground. We were lucky to grab the last open picnic table and set up for an afternoon of great conversations and listening to giggle after giggle from all the kids running around. It was just an amazing time spent with Gma Reese, she's so beautiful to us, inside and out, she looked great today. I even stole the kids away from the swings for some photos on the canons. Steve recalls the park well, much has changed and the only thing he wishes was still there is the lion drinking fountain, oh how awesome it would have been to watch the kids stick their faces in the lions mouth to get a drink. Sounds cool to me, too bad, I think even kids today would have loved it. Many great memories made today, we'll be back for more Gma!

Spring Fever

Oh how awesome it was to get out and enjoy the weather last evening! We're SO excited to see an end to winter, yet have to say it was a truly enjoyable one, even with all the shoveling! Steve is anxious to dust off his bike and hit the trails, I plan to join them this year with a new bike of my own and a tandem one connected to mine for Conner!

Brie is enjoying volleyball immensely and just the other day we registered for her last year of recreation soccer, this fall she'll have try outs for the competitive leagues.

Conner is LOVING school and when we arrive each morning I have to steal a hug, he's just thriving there. I will miss our commutes when he starts the summer Kid's Play program but I know it's for the best as he'll likely meet some fellow kindergartners! We're going to try T-ball this summer!

Work is work (rumors are heating up about another island trip only this time we'll likely drag Steve with). I'm excited to get the camper popped up, cleaned, stocked and hit those parks for some relaxing weekends!

Just a quick update!

Conner Update

I had the honor of partaking in an amazing breakfast this morning with my little man at his school. The chairs were very tiny, I had to sit side ways because I couldn't get my legs under the little table, so cute! The food was deletable, blue berry pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs, juice, croissants, bagels, cinnamon rolls, and lots of fruit. What does my Conner choose amongst all this, CEREAL! Yep, oh well it was so fun to listen to all the kids, each one so proud to show off their parents, it’s such an awesome place. This happens to be a week of celebration, every Lutheran preschool nationwide is doing this. Conner's been able to wear pajamas all week and bring a stuffed animal, they are watching movies and having popcorn, a costume party and I think Friday is the big bash and crazy hair day. I'm not looking forward to next week when he has to go back to wearing clothes!

Thought I'd share something funny, most mornings our 30 (sometimes 40) minute commute includes a little treat for Conner. It's a quick drive for me the driver, not so much for Conner the passenger so a healthy snack makes it awesome for him. This week's snack is extra cheddar fish crackers, he loves these so each morning he leaves with his little baggie. Monday he tells me that he's not going to eat them all and save one for on the way home. I didn't really hear him, paying attention to all the crazy drivers, so my mind only processed him saying, "I am going to save some." Well when I pick him up he's all happy like always, we buckle him in and off we go. A minute later he asks for his cracker bag so I grab it and tell him that he ate them all this morning, to which Conner replies "No I didn't I have one left!" Sure enough I look at the ziplock bag and here is one lowly little fish! I laughed so hard and smiled the rest of the way home. My little miracle man gives me such wonderful gifts, this one being laughter! Thank you Lord for the two precious gifts!!!!!!

Going Gray!

So as we relaxed just the two of us last night, kids tucked in bed, I looked over at my hubby and noticed he appeared to have battled a spray gun full of white paint at work and lost. Upon further inspection, no paint, at the ripe old age of 35, he's going gray, and FAST! I swear he wasn't that gray in Church on Sunday. So I ask my wonderful husband who is the least vain man I know whether this bothers him and should I pick up a color, he responded "yes." I think he looks very handsome with that peppered look. So here it begins........
